It starts with stopping.

We start in the present. Our first move is to take a minute. That’s it. Take the time to see where you are. When you are living a full, intense, high-speed life, we rarely do this, but this is where the magic begins.

We then work out what brought you to coaching. Talk about what you are hoping to achieve, change or discover.

Before we jump in to solutions, we get clear on your purpose. What gets you up in the morning, what are you best at, what are your deepest drivers. We do this across your whole life, not just work, not just home or family, but the whole you. We get clear on your goals, hopes and wildest dreams.

Then, we hone in. What needs focus right now? Next? Later? We live in a world of constant change and distraction, we need to take time to stop and decide where our attention needs to be. We break it all down into manageable chunks. We get clear on your priorities and what is possible. We also leave some things aside (for now).

Now, we reflect. Deeply. We explore what is is working and what is getting in the way. There will be plenty. We look at the things we do, or don’t do, the way we think about things, the perspectives we take, or don’t. We work out what is in our control and what is out. We do this with courage, humility and humour. We are only human after all, we don’t have to take everything too seriously!

Next, together we work out some possible shifts that might feel unfamiliar but we try and see. We give ourselves the chance to break old habits and patterns and embed new ones. Sometimes the results are incredible, other times, not so much. But through the process we realise what works, and that we can try and we don’t die. We become brave, willing and proud and we try again. We grow, and keep growing.

Once we have found new shifts that work, repeat. Practicing is the key to this approach. And once we are ready, we can start looking at the next things. Our capacity for growth and change is endless. Once we build the habit of growth, opportunities show up everywhere, again and again.

It may sound daunting, but by taking time to build clarity, perspective and a deep sense of what you want, it can be a whole lot easier.
